Pinnacle Studio 12 Dazzle Dvc 100 help?

I use my dazzle dvc 100 to record video from DVD's or video game consoles. I record it onto pinnacle studio 12 and it has been working fine but for the past month or so everytime I would finish recording I would click "edit" and get the message, "Error Opening Video File". I would then lose everything I recorded. I record in avi because when I try mpeg it says I could experience frame rate drops. I dont know what the problem is. What should I do.
